When we started work on South East Queensland Food Trails, the goal was simple, but not easy. Rethink what a food tourism platform could be, and build something that actually reflected how people want to explore, plan and experience place.

Food trails are often treated like static lists. SEQ Food Trails challenged that approach entirely. Instead of prescribing journeys, we designed a digital experience that lets users shape their own trail, guided by appetite, curiosity and context. A platform that feels intuitive, expressive and genuinely useful, not overbuilt or overexplained.

That thinking has now been recognised with a Good Design Award Winner Accolade in the Digital Design category, as part of the 2024 Australian Good Design Awards.

This project delivers design excellence in the bucket load. The Jury was thoroughly impressed with the bold use of colour, typography and layout throughout the site. Slick interactions and engaging user navigation topped off this wonderful example of a website done perfectly. A project to be envied and admired, well done team.

For us, this recognition affirms a belief that sits at the core of Studio Untitled. When strategy, design and technology move together, digital experiences can feel both expressive and functional. They can move quickly without losing intent. And they can support real outcomes for regions, operators and audiences alike.

SEQ Food Trails was commissioned by Queensland Country Tourism, in collaboration with tourism organisations and councils across South East Queensland. The platform brings together producers, venues and regions under one cohesive experience, helping strengthen food led tourism while supporting local economies and storytelling at scale.

Being recognised by Good Design Australia, whose awards have celebrated excellence since 1958, is a meaningful milestone. But more importantly, it reinforces the value of doing things differently. Of trusting instinct. Of breaking from convention. And of building digital work that respects both people and place.
